Even more energy-efficient than an occupancy sensor, we've added a vacancy sensor to our bestselling Brooklyn AC LED Task Lamp. The Brooklyn AC with Vacancy Sensor will initially be offered in Brushed Aluminum finish and is in-stock and ready to ship from our California warehouse.
The Frustration of Occupancy Sensors
You may have heard of occupancy sensors, and how frustrating they can be in collaborative work spaces and open floor plans. While well-meaning, occupancy sensors can unintentionally be triggered by someone walking by, which can be irritating and distracting. Many people end up covering their occupancy sensor with tape, defeating the purpose.
Vacancy Sensors
Enter the Vacancy Sensor, a spin on occupancy sensor technology. This infrared sensor will turn the light off after 15 minutes of vacancy, or when nobody is in front of it, and will keep the light off until the user taps the power button again to turn it on. This offers the same energy efficiency of automatic power shutoff, while preventing unwanted reactivation by requiring a manual tap. The Vacancy Sensor makes this light perfect for shared spaces and open floor plans with multiple workstations.
In addition to the Vacancy Sensor, this light features 3 touch-controlled brightness settings, 2 USB ports, and 2 universal AC sockets. Download the cut sheet here.
